- Glycine receptors are ligand-gated chloride channels. Channel opening is triggered by extracellular glycine(PubMed:9677400, PubMed:26416729). Channel characteristics depend on the subunit composition; heteropentameric channels display faster channel closure(By similarity). Plays an important role in the down-regulation of neuronal excitability(By similarity). Contributes to the generation of inhibitory postsynaptic currents(By similarity). Contributes to increased pain perception in response to increased prostaglandin E2 levels(By similarity). Plays a role in cellular responses to ethanol(By similarity).

At 2-8 °C unless the datasheet says otherwise. Do not freeze a kit that is not marked for freezing.
How long is an opened kit stable?
It depends on the component. The Kit Components table on this page lists the storage condition for each item after opening.
What should I do if the shipment arrives warm?
Photograph the package and contact us the same day. Do not use the kit until we have confirmed it is still within specification.

My background is too high. What should I check?
The usual causes are insufficient washing, contaminated buffers, or too much detection antibody. Our Protocol pages cover the full troubleshooting sequence.
Can I run fewer wells than the kit provides?
Yes. Dismountable microplates let you use part of a plate and reseal the rest with the desiccant supplied.
