- Background
- ZIP kinase, also named as ZIPK and Dlk, belongs to the protein kinase superfamily, CAMK Ser/Thr protein kinase family and DAP kinase subfamily. ZIP kinase is a Serine/threonine kinase which acts as a positive regulator of apoptosis. ZIP kinasephosphorylates histone H3 on 'Thr-11' at centromeres during mitosis. ZIP kinase regulates myosin light chain phosphatase through phosphorylation of MYPT1 thereby regulating the assembly of the actin cytoskeleton, cell migration, invasiveness of tumor cells, smooth muscle contraction and neurite outgrowth. It catalyze the reaction: ATP + a protein = ADP + a phosphoprotein.

How long is an opened kit stable?
It depends on the component. The Kit Components table on this page lists the storage condition for each item after opening.
What should I do if the shipment arrives warm?
Photograph the package and contact us the same day. Do not use the kit until we have confirmed it is still within specification.

My background is too high. What should I check?
The usual causes are insufficient washing, contaminated buffers, or too much detection antibody. Our Protocol pages cover the full troubleshooting sequence.
Can I run fewer wells than the kit provides?
Yes. Dismountable microplates let you use part of a plate and reseal the rest with the desiccant supplied.
